Volunteer with Kidron Project

Get involved in your community

We will welcome with compassion, surprise with generosity, support with kindness, lead with positivity, equip with excellence, energise with prayer and administer with integrity.

There are many ways you can get involved in the work of Kidron Project. As a small community based organisation we are always in need of more volunteers to help deliver our programmes and be the change in our locality.

Our volunteers get as much of a blessing from being involved in this work as our programme members do, and witnessing the transformations that can happen in people's lives by providing a little bit of care and compassion is truly awe-inspiring.

So if you are interested in helping us bring hope and transformation in your community, check out our volunteer vacancies below and fill in this enquiry form to find out more.

"It is such a privilege to walk alongside members as they have these light bulb moments and start to realise their own potential - I am so blessed seeing their strength and resilience in overcoming unbelievable challenges!"

– Colin, Kidron Coach

This is demanding but rewarding work which values generosity and professionalism in serving others, and sees big impacts on lives as a result. Why not join us and be part of positive change in Inverclyde?

Current volunteer opportunities

Job Coaches

We have need of additional Job Coaches to help run more cycles of our Steps to Employment course at Job Club. Changes in venue capacity limits and expectations of participants mean we need to expand our team of coaches to offer a course via group video calls as well as an in-person group course in Greenock. There are also opportunities for Job Coaches who wish to specialise in delivering employability skills for young people or for prison leavers re-entering the community.

Time commitment approx. 4-6 hours per week. Full training provided by Christians Against Poverty.

Money Coaches

The CAP Money Course is a powerful budgeting system that can be delivered to a wide variety of age groups and life situations. We have more requests for courses than we can deliver at present so more Coaches are needed to be trained to deliver these in Inverclyde. If you have an interest in making money go further and helping people learn simple but powerful life skills lessons there are opportunities to train as a Money Coach for families on low incomes, primary and secondary kids, students or prison leavers. Time commitment approx. 8 hours every few months. Full training provided by Christians Against Poverty.

Trainers

We are looking for men to train as course facilitators (Trainers) to help develop male version of our art therapy and crafting course. Peaced Together allows individuals to process past trauma through a series of crafting activities and themed discussions each week. Empathy and sensitivity are key qualities required of this role rather than artistic ability.

Time commitment approx. 6 hours per week. Full training provided by Peaced Together.

Volunteer Helpers

General volunteer helpers are needed in various parts of the charity to provide practical help with venue set up, hospitality and one-to-one assistance for members at courses or background admin tasks.

Client Support

Emergency Aid Coordinators

Part of our commitment to generosity and whole person support at Kidron Project means being able to assist people in crisis situations with single items of emergency aid. We require gifted administrators to coordinate requests for aid to our partner Acts 435 and arrange fulfilment of the aid locally to the recipients in Inverclyde. An excellent people person with full driver's licence, patience and good comfort level with telephone/email/website use is required for this role.

Time commitment approx. 2-4 hours per week. Full training provided by Acts 435.

Befriending Coordinator

Some of our programme members are dealing with multiple issues in their lives such as social isolation, anxiety and health challenges. We need someone to help coordinate the volunteers for our Two's Company befriending team with a gift for coming alongside people to listen, socialise and provide moral support to those who would benefit from a little extra contact, either in person or by telephone.
Time commitment approx. 1-2 hours per week. Full training provided by Linking Lives UK

Prayer Coordinator

As our charity programmes develop the importance of prayer in supporting volunteers and programme members through life challenges is essential. We require someone who is passionate about Christian prayer and the value of every person being seen, heard and respected to coordinate requests for prayer  and provide opportunities for spiritual engagement where required.
Time commitment approx. 2 hours per week.

Trustees

Our charity is governed by an independent board of trustees who are responsible for the oversight of how the charity is run and ensuring it meets its charitable objectives. We value a broad range of perspectives and experience on our Board to help us achieve this. Trustees have a 5 year term and meetings are held via Zoom 4 times a year.

Minimum time commitment approx. 4 hours per quarter.

HR & Training Support

As the programme teams expand it is important to have robust processes for recruiting, training and supporting our volunteers. If you have experience in Human Resources or volunteer management, and are able to devote some time on a monthly basis  to help us develop resources and procedures for this please get in touch.

Time commitment approx. 2-4 hours per month. Guidance and training support will be provided.
