There are many ways you can get involved in the work of Kidron Project. As a small community based organisation we are always in need of more volunteers to help deliver our programmes and be the change in our locality.
Our volunteers get as much of a blessing from being involved in this work as our programme members do, and witnessing the transformations that can happen in people's lives by providing a little bit of care and compassion is truly awe-inspiring.
– Colin, Kidron Coach
We have need of additional Job Coaches to help run more cycles of our Steps to Employment course at Job Club. Changes in venue capacity limits and expectations of participants mean we need to expand our team of coaches to offer a course via group video calls as well as an in-person group course in Greenock.
Time commitment approx. 4-6 hours per week. Full training provided by Christians Against Poverty.
The Money Course is a powerful budgeting system that can be delivered to a wide variety of age groups and life situations. We have more requests for courses than we can deliver at present so more Coaches are needed to be trained to deliver these in Inverclyde. If you have an interest in making money go further and helping people learn simple but powerful life skills lessons there are opportunities to train as a Money Coach for families on low incomes, primary and secondary kids, students or prison leavers. Time commitment approx. 8 hours every few months. Full training provided by Christians Against Poverty.
Part of our commitment to generosity and whole person support at Kidron Project means being able to assist people in crisis situations with single items of emergency aid. We require gifted administrators to coordinate requests for aid to our partner Acts 435 and arrange fulfilment of the aid locally to the recipients in Inverclyde. An excellent people person with full driver's licence, patience and good comfort level with telephone/email/website use is required for this role.
Time commitment approx. 2-4 hours per week. Full training provided by Acts 435.
If you have an interest in helping others learn essential life skills for managing home life and wellbeing on a budget why not help run our Life Ready courses which run three times a year in the community.
Time commitment approx. 5 hours per week for 5 weeks three to four times a year. Free training provided.
Our charity is governed by an independent board of trustees who are responsible for the oversight of how the charity is run and ensuring it meets its charitable objectives. We value a broad range of perspectives and experience on our Board to help us achieve this. Trustees have a 5 year term and meetings are held via Zoom 4 times a year.
Minimum time commitment approx. 4 hours per quarter.
As the programme teams expand it is important to have robust processes for recruiting, training and supporting our volunteers. If you have experience in Human Resources or volunteer management, and are able to devote some time on a monthly basis to help us develop resources and procedures for this please get in touch.
Time commitment approx. 2-4 hours per month. Guidance and training support will be provided.
