Get involved in your community
We will welcome with compassion, surprise with generosity, support with kindness, lead with positivity, equip with excellence, energise with prayer and administer with integrity.
There are many ways you can get involved in the work of Kidron Project. As a small community based organisation we are always in need of more volunteers to help deliver our programmes in a professional manner and be the change in our locality.
If you are someone who is compassionate, empathetic, able to adapt to people well and share your faith in an everyday manner then we'd love to hear from you. Our volunteers get as much of a blessing from being involved in this work as our programme members do, and witnessing the transformations that can happen in people's lives by providing a little bit of care and compassion is truly awe-inspiring.
"It is such a privilege to walk alongside members as they have these light bulb moments and start to realise their own potential - I am so blessed seeing their strength and resilience in overcoming unbelievable challenges!" – Colin, Job Club Coach
So if you are interested in helping us bring hope and transformation in your community, check out our volunteer vacancies below and fill in this enquiry form to find out more.
Current volunteer opportunities
We are looking for ladies to train as additional course facilitators (Trainers) to help make more courses available throughout the year as demand for places always outstrips supply for this art therapy and crafting course. Peaced Together allows women to process past trauma through a series of crafting activities and themed discussions each week. Empathy and sensitivity are key qualities required of this role rather than artistic ability.
Time commitment approx. 6 hours per week. Full training provided by Peaced Together.
The CAP Money Course is a powerful budgeting system that can be delivered to a wide variety of age groups and life situations. We have more requests for courses than we can deliver at present so more Coaches are needed to be trained to deliver these in Inverclyde. If you have an interest in making money go further and helping people learn simple but powerful money management skills there are opportunities to train as a Money Coach for families on low incomes, primary and secondary kids, students and prison leavers. Time commitment approx. 8 hours per month. Full training provided by Christians Against Poverty.
Emergency Aid Coordinators
Part of our commitment to generosity and whole person support at Kidron Project means being able to assist people in crisis situations with single items of emergency aid. We require gifted administrators to coordinate requests for aid to our partner Acts 435 and arrange fulfilment of the aid locally to the recipients in Inverclyde. An excellent people person with full driver's licence, patience and good comfort level with telephone/email/website use is required for this role.
Time commitment approx. 4-6 hours per week. Full training provided by Acts 435.
We have need of additional Job Coaches to help run more cycles of our Steps to Employment course at Job Club. Changes in venue capacity limits and expectations of participants mean we need to expand our team of coaches to offer a course via group video calls as well as an in-person group course in Greenock. There are also opportunities for Job Coaches who wish to specialise in delivering employability skills for young people or for prison leavers re-entering the community.
Time commitment approx. 4-6 hours per week. Full training provided by Christians Against Poverty.
As our charity programmes develop the importance of prayer in supporting volunteers and programme members through life challenges is essential. We require someone who is passionate about Christian prayer and the value of every person being seen, heard and respected to coordinate requests for prayer and provide opportunities for spiritual engagement where required.
Time commitment approx. 2 hours per week.
Some of our programme members are dealing with multiple issues in their lives such as social isolation, anxiety and health challenges. We need volunteers for our Two's Company team with a gift for coming alongside people to listen, socialise and provide moral support to those who would benefit from a little extra contact, either in person or by telephone.
Time commitment approx. 1-2 hours per week. Full training provided by Linking Lives UK.
Faith Course CoordinatorAs part of our spiritual support provision through Kidron Fellowship there is an opportunity for someone who enjoys facilitating Christian faith courses to help coordinate and deliver a timetable of sessions throughout the year for discipleship and spiritual growth, i.e. Alpha, Discovery Steps, Freedom in Christ. This would probably consist of around 3-4 timetabled courses a year, assisted by a team.
Time commitment approx. 6-8 hrs per month.
We are a small but growing charity with exciting impacts from the money raised by our generous supporters. In keeping with our commitment to integrity and professionalism we require a finance-minded volunteer to help with bookkeeping, financial reporting to the Board and communicating with our donors. Familiarity with online accounting software such as Quickbooks and comfort using email/computer processes is essential.
Time commitment approx. 2-4 hours per month.
Fundraising OfficerKidron Project's focus on being responsive to opportunities for equipping volunteers and the community requires a certain amount of targeted fundraising through events, grants and businesses. If you are inspired by our mission and have skills in the area of writing proposals/applications, evaluating impact of spending and meeting deadlines etc. then why not hone those skills for a few hours a week as a fundraiser for Kidron Project?
Time commitment approx. 4 hours per week. Guidance and training support will be available from CVS Inverclyde & CAP Scotland.
HR & Training Officer
As the programme teams expand it is important to have robust processes for recruiting, training and supporting our volunteers. If you have experience in Human Resources or volunteer management, and are able to devote some time on a monthly basis to help us develop resources and procedures for this please get in touch.
Time commitment approx. 4-6 hours per month. Guidance and training support will be available from CVS Inverclyde & CAP Scotland.
We are quite dynamic and adaptive in how we approach our work at Kidron Project so you’ll need to be a good communicator, confident using a computer and email to stay in touch and be realistic about your capacity to commit time and energy to any role.
This is demanding but rewarding work which values generosity and professionalism in serving others and sees big impacts on people's lives as a result. Most of our volunteer positions will require commitment to the Christian faith and a Basic Disclosure check and will involve interview and training processes which vary according to the role.
